Northern Virginia Community Outreach Program
In January the Office of the Attorney General extended the reach of its community outreach programs by securing an outreach coordinator in every region of the state. The Northern Virginia Outreach Coordinator, Michele Leith, works closely with many groups in the Northern Virginia area. She is a board member for NVAN (Northern Virginia Aging Network). She is also a member of the Prince William County G.R.I.T. (Gang Response Intervention Team) and the Greater Prince William Human Trafficking Task Force.
The Northern Virginia Community Outreach Coordinator works closely with the Northern Virginia TRIAD groups. The coordinator regularly holds presentations on all the available programs and resources that the Office of the Attorney General provides. Programs such as, Medicaid Fraud Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Human Trafficking, Financial Fraud Prevention awareness and education, legal services fraud outreach, and consumer protection to local community organizations, faith groups, service providers, Triad groups, neighborhood watches, law enforcement community groups, and senior living communities.
