TRIAL SECTION

 

DUTIES:  The successful candidate will defend the Commonwealth of Virginia, its agencies and departments, and its officials and employees in state and federal courts, litigating cases which can range from personal injury torts to alleged violations of constitutional rights.  The representation will include drafting pleadings and briefs, conducting all aspects of discovery, including investigation and advice to clients through the course of litigation, court appearances, and trial and appellate work.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  Admission to the Virginia State Bar required.  A minimum of four (4) years of civil litigation experience in federal or state court is preferred but similar litigation or other relevant experience considered.  The position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in time management, the ability to manage a diverse and challenging caseload, and the flexibility to work both independently and as a team member.  Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and adjust priorities without close supervision.  This position presents an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right candidate to be a part of a dynamic team and to perform a valuable public service.
