The Office of the Attorney General is committed to combating human trafficking in Virginia.  Along with supporting legislation to increase the penalties for traffickers, the office participates in several federal, state, and local human trafficking workgroups and task forces.   In 2011, the office partnered with the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) to train prosecutors, law enforcement, and victim-witness coordinators from jurisdictions across Virginia how to investigate and prosecute human trafficking under Virginia law.  This training was the first of its kind in Virginia.

Check the DCJS web site for upcoming regional human trafficking trainings.
